Ambassador Gaston Stronck receives a delegation of the Battle of the Bulge Association

Published Thursday September 26 2019

On 26 September at the Luxembourg Embassy, Ambassador Gaston Stronck had the pleasure to welcome COL Alan Cunningham, Chairman of the Board of the Battle of the Bulge Association, COL Al Cleghorn, and David Bailey, a Battle of the Bulge veteran who served in the 106th Infantry Division and was national president of the BoB Association between 2010 and 2012. They discussed the preparations for the commemorations of the 75th anniversary of the start of the Battle of the Bulge in December and the plans of the BoBA to take an important group of veterans and their family members to Luxembourg and Belgium to take part in the official commemorations and visit the main sites of the Battle on their trip. Ambassador Stronck recalled that Luxembourgers of all generation remain eternally grateful for the sacrifices that American and Allied troops made in this Battle, the largest battle fought on land by American soldiers in World War II.

Ambassador Stronck looks forward to hosting the BoBA for annual commemorations in Washington in January 2020.
