General Breedlove, USAF, Ret., awarded the Order of the Oak Crown

On June 28, 2021, Ambassador Gaston Stronck bestowed, on behalf of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke Henri, the Order of the Oak Crown to Gen. Philip Breedlove, USAF, Ret., for his outstanding cooperation with Luxembourg during his time as Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). The ceremony took place at the Embassy of Luxembourg in Washington DC. The Order of the Oak Crown was instituted by William II, King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg by the Grand Ducal Royal Decree of December 29, 1841. It is intended to reward both civil and military services rendered by Luxembourgers, or in exceptional cases, by foreigners.
