The Honorary Consuls of Luxembourg in virtual conference

A virtual event, gathering together the Luxembourg Honorary Consuls across the US, Canada, Central America and the Caribbean, took place on 1 June 2021. The meeting was opened by Ambassador Gaston Stronck, who welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude for their continuing service and commitment.

Ambassador Stronck gave an update on consular affairs, including the figures of consular services provided in the first half of 2021, information on current travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the EU Digital COVID Certificate.

Prof. Catherine Léglu, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the University of Luxembourg made a comprehensive overview of the University’s international outlook, academic programs, exchange and cooperation partnerships, and institutional achievements.

Andreea Monnat, Deputy CEO of the Luxembourg National Research Fund (LNRF) made a presentation on the emergence of Luxembourg as a research-innovation hub in Europe.

The event concluded with a Q&A session and with the announcement of the upcoming changes of diplomatic staff at the Embassy in Washington DC and the Consulates in New York and San Francisco.
