Marie-Louise Rouff is a Luxembourgish landscape and abstraction artist, currently residing on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. Inspired by her father’s pencil drawings, Marie-Louise began to paint from a young age. Later, she went on to earn a Master’s degree in French, French Literature, and teach languages.
Rouff has lived in India and France where she studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, before moving to New York City in 1958. After relocating to St. Louis, Missouri to raise her two young sons, she began painting again. She enrolled in the School of Fine Arts at Washington University in St Louis, and began her 50-year journey as a full-time painter.
Rouff’s work has been exhibited in the United States and Europe. She is represented by galleries in Los Angeles, California and Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. Her paintings and monotypes figure in a number of corporate and private collections, including at the Embassy of Luxembourg in Washington DC. Some of her work has been purchased by the State Museum of Luxembourg.
