Webinar on the impact of the US presidential election on Luxembourg and Europe

Ambassador Gaston Stonck gave a presentation today entitled US Post Election – Impact on Luxembourg and Europe at a webinar hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg (AMCHAM) and the Luxembourg American Business Organization (LACC).

Ambassador Stronck highlighted the main priorities in the US-EU relations, emphasizing the coordination in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as in the effort to return to sustainable economic growth. He also underlined the importance of the US return to the Paris Agreement and the unique opportunity it presents to reinforce the transatlantic dialogue and cooperation on sustainable and green finance. Ambassador Stronck also talked about the foreign policy challenges ahead, on bilateral and multilateral levels, notably as far as common economic competitors and political adversaries are concerned. He concluded his presentation stressing the importance of transatlantic cooperation in the field of defence policy.

Chargé d’Affaires Casey Mace of the US Embassy in Luxembourg also intervened with some wrap-up remarks. The event concluded with a Q&A session.
