2025 EU Open House at the Embassy of Luxembourg

The Embassy of Luxembourg opened its doors to the public on Saturday, May 10, for a day of Luxembourg culture, food, music and history, during the annual EU Open House in Washington, D.C.

75 years after the Schuman Declaration, considered the founding act of the European Union, the Open House event was a great opportunity to celebrate Robert Schuman, born in Luxembourg in 1886, and recognized as a father of Europe.

On this special day, we also reproduced an indoor garden to showcase the LUGA garden exhibition in Luxembourg. LUGA shows how open-air and public open spaces embellish contemporary urban settings and create areas of recreation for inhabitants.

This year’s Open House was again a great success. Locals and visitors from afar were delighted to learn about our Embassy’s history and try our Luxembourg sausages. A big thank to our sponsors, Ferrero and Ansay International, for providing sweets and drinks.

We were thankful to be joined by Sarah Habeck, who told the story of her grandfather, René Arend, the Luxembourger chef who invented the McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets!

Villmools Merci to everyone who came to visit us!
